Yoojin Jang, violin
Violinist Yoo Jin Jang, praised for her “fiery virtuosity” and sensitive interpretation, is the most recent 1st prize winner of the 2016 Sendai International Music Competition. She has won prizes in numerous competitions including 2017 Concert Artist Guild, 5th prize, Special Prize at the 2014 International Violin Competition of Indianapolis and the 1st prize at the 2013 Munetsugu Angel Competition, for which she received the 1697 “Rainville” Stradivarius on loan for 2 years. Performances include soloist with Ivan Fischer and the Budapest Festival Orchestra, the Erato Ensemble with Shlomo Mintz, and the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra with Myung-Hoon Chung. She has performed at Ravinia Stean’s Music Institute and Marlboro Music Festival and is currently pursuing a doctorate degree at the New England Conservatory where she is studying with Miriam Fried.
